Whats Involved
At Sedgemoor we value all bookings. We understand that all weddings are unique and are treated as such, each taken on their merits. It isn't just a case of you paying us your money and we turn up all shiny and ready to go. There are weeks, if not months of preparation to make sure that when your day arrives, everything is right and that we are fully prepared for the occasion.
Because we know how special the occasion is for you, we thought it might be an idea to give you a brief insight into the daily life of Sedgemoor, to show you what's involved in making your day as perfect as it should be.
After you have booked with us, a member of the Sedgemoor team will travel to the specified locations and carry out a series of dry runs and possible routes. This ensures that when we arrive on the big day we know exactly where we are going and what to expect. All of this extra traveling is including in the original booking fee so you know there will never be any hidden fee with Sedgemoor.
A member of the Sedgemoor team will contact the client and where possible meet up to discuss any requirements you may have. We will also contact your photographer, Church etc to see if there are any preferences that they may require.
Before we even head out to the location a few days are spent prior, checking harnesses and the specified carriage to ensure that all are in working order. Great care is also taken at looking after the horses and their feet. We always give the horses a pre booking MOT in effect, making sure they, along with the hardware are in full working order and fit to go.
Just before the big day the chosen horses are fully groomed and all lugs and knots removed etc. After all at Sedgemoor most of the horses like the freedom of the great outdoors. This clearly means that a bigger scale groom is often required. Often taking several hours to get that perfect appearance.
Your Big Day
On the actual morning of your big day we know you will have enough on your plate without having to worry about us. That's why we make sure that we are fully prepared and ready for every eventuality. Below is a very short list of just a few of the things that we have to do to make sure that your big day go's exactly how you always dreamed it would.

- Depending on where you are we are normally up and about with the horses at around three in the morning. This is to make sure that we have sufficient fuel and that the horsebox is sound and safe and that it is all loaded up correctly.
- A list of equipment is checked off.

- We make sure all the horses are fed and watered and sufficient supplies are loaded onto the wagon for the rest of the day.
- We then leave the farm with the horses and start for the chosen location along with any items you may have additionally asked us to bring.

- Once we arrive at our pre confirmed location we will unload the horses and begin the task of getting them ready and clean. we will also do another spot check of all the equipment i.e. harness equipment to make sure they are clean, safe and ready to go.
- Once the horse has been groomed we will turn our attention to its feet and again check they are in order.

- The horses are then braided up and loaded into their harness. Again checks are carried for safety and comfort for the horses sake.
- The driver and the groom then take charge of the carriage.

- The horses are then attached to the vehicle you have chosen for your special day.
- We then leave the pre confirmed location and set out to pick you up, Once we have done this we will take you to your chosen location ( Church etc). Once at the destination you will have the chance to get your photographs with the horses and loved ones.
This is basically just a little bit of what's involved. As mentioned we thought it would be good for you to see what's involved with every booking. The work doesn't just stop there though as we have to go through the same procedures coming home. If you would like to know more about what's involved please don't hesitate to contact us.
